<br />~~ <br />3 <br />~ctq~.A <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 6, 2011 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, and Director of Human Resources Farver. <br />Absent: Director of Planning and Development Wenger, Director of Safety and <br />Service Thomas <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: <br />Second Reading -Resolutions 2011-88 & 2011-89; First Reading -Resolution 2011-99. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He attended a demonstration of the new camera truck for the city and everything <br />went well. <br />• Councilman Schumann will be giving a talk at the Rocky River Senior Center <br />about Frostville on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 7pm. <br />• On August 26, 2011, NOPD received a call about a distraught 28 year old male at <br />a Clague Road residence. The Department closed Clague to traffic in order to <br />negotiate with the male who had been inhaling bath salts. The WEB SWAT team <br />was contacted and responded. After 3 '/2 hours of negotiating, the male subject <br />came out of the house. He was transported to a local hospital for observation and <br />was arrested the next morning. <br />• The City Hall parking lot project has been selected by the United States EPA for a <br />site visit on September 13, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. as a model storm water quality <br />demonstration project in Cuyahoga County. <br />• As expected, the rainfall this year has had a tremendous impact on Springvale, <br />making the course improvement project even more important. This work began <br />two weeks ago and as of today, 10 of the 13 greens have been completed as have <br />many of the bunkers. The entire project should be done by the end of next week. <br />~,~, .. . <br />
