~~ 3 ~ctq~.A MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED SEPTEMBER 6, 2011 Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, and Director of Human Resources Farver. Absent: Director of Planning and Development Wenger, Director of Safety and Service Thomas President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: Second Reading -Resolutions 2011-88 & 2011-89; First Reading -Resolution 2011-99. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He attended a demonstration of the new camera truck for the city and everything went well. • Councilman Schumann will be giving a talk at the Rocky River Senior Center about Frostville on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 7pm. • On August 26, 2011, NOPD received a call about a distraught 28 year old male at a Clague Road residence. The Department closed Clague to traffic in order to negotiate with the male who had been inhaling bath salts. The WEB SWAT team was contacted and responded. After 3 '/2 hours of negotiating, the male subject came out of the house. He was transported to a local hospital for observation and was arrested the next morning. • The City Hall parking lot project has been selected by the United States EPA for a site visit on September 13, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. as a model storm water quality demonstration project in Cuyahoga County. • As expected, the rainfall this year has had a tremendous impact on Springvale, making the course improvement project even more important. This work began two weeks ago and as of today, 10 of the 13 greens have been completed as have many of the bunkers. The entire project should be done by the end of next week. ~,~, .. .
