~.;; ~~ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AUGUST 2, 2011 Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Planning and Development Wenger. Absent: Director of Safety and Service Thomas, Director of Human Resources Farver President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilman Mahoney made a motion to amend the agenda to remove approval of the Council meeting minutes of June 21, 2011 and the special Council meeting of July 11, 2011. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Agenda amended to remove approval of the Council meeting minutes. Councilman Barker made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Ordinance 2011-87. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Agenda amended to remove 2011-87. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: First Reading -Resolution 2011-80, Ordinance 2011-81, Resolution 2011-83 & Resolution 2011-85. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He presented scholarships from the Mayor's Run to Nick Brossard, Moira English, Rick Murphy, Ryan O'Malley and Sean Robinson. • He recognized the State Champs from St. Edward's Volley Ball Team -Rick Murphy, Sean Murphy and Zack Champa. Councilman Brossard took a moment of personal privilege to congratulate everyone. • Service Dept. personnel are continuing to respond to flooding calls related to the rain event of Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Crews are cleaning catch basins, jetting storm lines and cleaning ditches. Over 600 residents attended three community flood meetings.
