Resolution 2011-83 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to make application for an Urban Area Working Group Homeland Security Grant; further authorizing the Mayor to accept funding if awarded and to execute contracts if necessary, and declaring an emergency. A Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to construct improvements to the sanitary sewer collection system at various locations in the city, as detailed in the specifications on file in the Service Department, and authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the lowest and best bidder, and declaring an emergency. Resolution 2011-85 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A Resolution dispensing with the RFP process and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a one year contract with Cuyahoga County /The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works for the purpose of the County providing storm sewer system inspection and maintenance services, and declaring an emergency. Jeff Sturgeon, 3092 W. 231 asked to what extent the County will get involved and the cost associated with this. Mayor Kennedy said the city has shifted money around to pay for the County's services. The issue was researched on whether to rent a Vac Truck, buy a Vac Truck or to contract with the County. Clearly the best short-term solution was to contract with the County. They will be out on a daily basis. 6
