Council Minutes of OS-17-2011 <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• No report. <br />Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Finance Committee reported that Ordinance 2011- <br />72, which was added to the agenda tonight, is a transfer Ordinance that deals with grant <br />funds for the Division Youth and Family Services through the Police Dept. There are <br />funds being transferred back and forth in the Service Dept. to fund the position of Public <br />Works Commissioner. <br />Councilman Mahoney, Chairman of the Building, Zoning & Development Committee: <br />The BZD Committee met Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Present were committee <br />members Mahoney, Kearney and Barker; Council President Limpert; Council members <br />Brossard, Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson; and Planning and Development Director <br />Wenger. <br />• CMS 11-09 Sunnyside Toyota -The committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval <br />of this development plan. <br />Councilman Mahoney made a motion to approve CMS11-09 Sunnyside Toyota. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. CMS 11-09 <br />Sunnyside Toyota approved. <br />• CMS 11-11 Gas Box -This is a proposal from a vintage motorcycle restoration <br />company. They are purchasing and taking over the city's old fire station on <br />Lorain Road. The committee voted 3-0 for approval for this development plan. <br />Councilman Mahoney made a motion to approve CMS11-11 Gas Box. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Kearney. Roll Call: Mahoney, yes; Kearney, yes; Orlowski, <br />yes; Barker, yes with comment. Wasn't there something mentioned about the brick <br />paving and tree lawn issue on the west end of town? Mahoney said there were a couple <br />of options at the Planning and Design Commission stage and at the committee stage. The <br />issue was whether or not we wanted more green space on the west end of Lorain Road or <br />if we wanted to stick with the current code that would require brick pavers to be installed. <br />Wenger presented this to Council and has indicated that she is going to research the issue <br />and propose legislation. If not, it may come before Wenger later on. Thank you, Mr. <br />Barker. Barker said my vote is yes. Roll Call continued: Brossard, yes; Schumann, yes, <br />Williamson, yes. CMS 11-11 Gas Box approved. <br />• The last item discussed was Ordinance 2010-100 which is an Ordinance <br />amending Section 1119.02 of the Zoning Code of the City of North Olmsted to <br />require, as a prerequisite to issuance of certificate of occupancy, payment of or <br />agreement to make payments on real property taxes, as twice amended. The <br />committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of Ordinance 2010-100. <br />3 <br />
