x~ <br />~,_ <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 3, 2011 <br />Present: Council Members Barker, Brossard Kearney, Mahoney, Schumann, <br />Orlowski, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Human Resources Farver, Director of <br />Planning and Development Wenger <br />Absent: President of Council Limpert <br />Council President Pro-tem Mahoney called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of March 15, 2011 were approved as written. The <br />minutes of the special Council meeting of April 12, 2011 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: <br />First Reading -Ordinance 2011-62, Resolutions 2011-63, 2011-66, 2011-67 and 2011- <br />69. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He congratulated Paul Schumann as he is North Olmsted's Citizen of the Year. <br />• Chief Wozniak's last day of service will be Friday, May 6, 2011. He thanked him <br />for his outstanding service to the citizens of North Olmsted and wished him the <br />best in retirement. Chick-fil-A will be hosting a retirement breakfast at 9 a.m. on <br />May 5, 2011. There will also be an open house at North Olmsted's VFW Hall on <br />May 5, 2011 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. <br />• North Olmsted's new Police Chief will be Jamie Gallagher. Jamie will be sworn <br />in as Chief on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Council Chambers. <br />• Over the last several weeks, he has interviewed three candidates for the position <br />of Safety/Service Director. In the event Mr. Ritenauer can not return to his post, <br />he will be selecting one of the candidates later this week. <br />• The Squad Committee is finalizing their specifications for the purchase of the new <br />squad. Recommendations will soon be forwarded to Administration and Council. <br />• Applications for the position of Fire Administrator are being reviewed. <br />Interviews will be conducted in the next few weeks. <br />
