The entire lot will be repaved, and the parking spaces
will be re-aligned to make it easier for the loading and unloading of golf bags.
The cost is approximately $77,000, and the money will come from the Issue 34
fund. The committee voted 3-0 for approval of Resolution 2011-26.
Councilman Orlowski, Vice Chairman of the Streets & Transportation Committee
announced that on Monday, March 21, 2011 the annual Streets Tour begins at 6:00 p.m.
Everyone will meet and board a bus in front of the City Hall main entrance. All of
Council is invited as well as interested residents.
Councilman Mahoney, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee:
The Public Safety Committee met Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 7:45 p.m. Present were
committee members Mahoney, Williamson and Kearney.
• The only item on the agenda was a renewal liquor permit no. 5897189 for Mi
Polio at 27600 Lorain Road. Lt. Ronald Cox of the North Olmsted Police Dept.
did an investigation and found no problems or issues with the applicant. The
committee voted 3-0 to not object to the liquor permit.
Councilman Mahoney made a motion to not object to a renewal permit no. 5897189 for
Mi Polio located at 27600 Lorain Road. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman
Williamson and passed unanimously. Liquor permit no. 5897189 Mi Polio approved.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane reminded Council that they are not a judicial
committee/body, they are a legislative body. Council will be meeting next week to make
a determination as to how they are going to vote regarding the Chairman of the Civil
Service Commission. Lambert said that the Law Director stated or suggested to Council
that they are not to seek out further information regarding this until the hearing - he is
wrong. Council has every right to talk to anybody they want, interview and gather
information from outside legal sources. He suggested Council look at Congress as an
example of a body that holds hearings and in which their staff seeks out information and
take testimony from everywhere and put everything together before they make a decision.
10
