<br />Council Minutes of 03-15-2011 <br />long time. Mayor Kennedy said the Chief has submitted a retirement date and they did <br />put in for the test so they have moved right ahead. <br />Sid King, 27149 Limpert Lane said since last Council meeting, it has come to his <br />attention that American Greeting is going to stay in northeast Ohio and he is curious as to <br />whether or not anyone from the city has contact them about possibly relocating to North <br />Olmsted. Mayor Kennedy said he has not, but he can reach out. He is not sure where he <br />could put the company. Councilman Barker said the newspaper has reported the <br />following cities: Brooklyn, Independence, Westlake and Beachwood. The city may not <br />have the property available for a facility like that. Mayor Kennedy said it can't hurt to <br />call them. Councilman Orlowski said he doesn't know how much it would influence <br />their location, but two of the owners live in Beachwood. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance 2011-16 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance amending and re-establishing Chapter 137 of the Administrative Code entitled <br />"Department of Law" in order to provide for the re-organization thereof. Councilman <br />Barker moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and <br />passed unanimously. Ordinance 2011-16 adopted. <br />Ordinance 2011-18 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance amending Section 505.16 of Chapter 505 (Animals and Fowl) of the General <br />Offenses Code, entitled "Vicious and Dangerous Animals," in order to prohibit surgical <br />debarking and to provide for additional penalties. Councilman Orlowski moved for <br />adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance 2011-18 adopted. <br />Ordinance 2011-19 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance enacting new Section 505.18 of Chapter 505 (Animals and Fowl) of the <br />General Offenses Code, entitled "Assaulting or Harassing Police Dog or Horse or Service <br />Dog" in order to prohibit animal abuse. Councilman Orlowski moved for adoption. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Ordinance <br />2011-19 adopted. <br />Ordinance 2011-20 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance enacting new Section 505.17 of Chapter 505 (Animals and Fowl) of the <br />General Offenses Code, entitled "Animal Fighting Prohibited" in order to prohibit such <br />animal abuse. Councilman Orlowski moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2011-20 adopted. <br />Ordinance 2011-21 introduced by Councilman Barker was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance amending Chapter 755 of the Business Regulation Code of the City of North <br />Olmsted, entitled "Secondhand Dealers" to update the regulation and licensing of such <br />resale dealers.
