Council Minutes of 03-15-2011 long time. Mayor Kennedy said the Chief has submitted a retirement date and they did put in for the test so they have moved right ahead. Sid King, 27149 Limpert Lane said since last Council meeting, it has come to his attention that American Greeting is going to stay in northeast Ohio and he is curious as to whether or not anyone from the city has contact them about possibly relocating to North Olmsted. Mayor Kennedy said he has not, but he can reach out. He is not sure where he could put the company. Councilman Barker said the newspaper has reported the following cities: Brooklyn, Independence, Westlake and Beachwood. The city may not have the property available for a facility like that. Mayor Kennedy said it can't hurt to call them. Councilman Orlowski said he doesn't know how much it would influence their location, but two of the owners live in Beachwood. LEGISLATION Ordinance 2011-16 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An Ordinance amending and re-establishing Chapter 137 of the Administrative Code entitled "Department of Law" in order to provide for the re-organization thereof. Councilman Barker moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2011-16 adopted. Ordinance 2011-18 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its third reading. An Ordinance amending Section 505.16 of Chapter 505 (Animals and Fowl) of the General Offenses Code, entitled "Vicious and Dangerous Animals," in order to prohibit surgical debarking and to provide for additional penalties. Councilman Orlowski moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2011-18 adopted. Ordinance 2011-19 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its third reading. An Ordinance enacting new Section 505.18 of Chapter 505 (Animals and Fowl) of the General Offenses Code, entitled "Assaulting or Harassing Police Dog or Horse or Service Dog" in order to prohibit animal abuse. Councilman Orlowski moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2011-19 adopted. Ordinance 2011-20 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its third reading. An Ordinance enacting new Section 505.17 of Chapter 505 (Animals and Fowl) of the General Offenses Code, entitled "Animal Fighting Prohibited" in order to prohibit such animal abuse. Councilman Orlowski moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2011-20 adopted. Ordinance 2011-21 introduced by Councilman Barker was given its third reading. An Ordinance amending Chapter 755 of the Business Regulation Code of the City of North Olmsted, entitled "Secondhand Dealers" to update the regulation and licensing of such resale dealers.
