Council Minutes of 03-01-2011 municipal government and our municipal employees -our bargaining units and the non- bargaining units. This is an appropriate subject for Councilpersons to weigh in on. Since I have decided that SBS is just flat out bad for local governments and state governments and middle class, my vote is yes for this Resolution. Roll Call continued: Schumann, abstain with comment. I have trouble with Resolutions like this. It seems to me that we can come out against cancer and baby snatching and it's not really going to do a lot of good. I realize that there is a desire to make a comment here by Council and I can appreciate that, but this has only been before us for a couple hours. I've only been aware of it for a couple hours. I'm certainly haven't talked to anybody in my Ward about this. I really don't know how everybody feels about it. I'm going to abstain. Roll Call continued: Williamson, yes. Resolution 2011-31 passes 5-4. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS Council President Limpert scheduled a Committee of the Whole meeting for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 to discuss Resolution 2011-29 and discuss the re-organization of Council. Councilman Barker scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 to discuss Ordinances 2011-23 and 2011-24. The Director of Finance is asked to attend. He also scheduled the budget hearings for Ordinance 2011-28 for 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011; 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011; 9:00 a.m. for Saturday, March 12, 2011. Councilman Brossard scheduled a Streets & Transportation Committee meeting for 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. The Director of Planning and Development, Director of Public Safety and Service and the City Engineer are asked to attend. Councilman Mahoney scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 to discuss Sunoco, Five Below and Ordinance 2011-27. The Director of Planning and Development is asked to attend. Councilman Mahoney scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee meeting for 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 to discuss a liquor permit. Councilman Kearney scheduled a Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee meeting for 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 to discuss Resolution 2011-26. The Director of Planning and Development is asked to attend. Councilman Orlowski scheduled an Environmental Control Committee meeting for 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 to discuss Resolution 2011-30 and stormwater back-up issues. The Mayor, Director of Public Safety and Service, Assistant Superintendent of Collection, City Engineer and City Forester are asked to attend. 10
