She read her resignation
letter into the minutes, which is attached to these minutes. She also added the following:
It truly was an honor to be elected to City Council. The group of people that I sit with
tonight are the finest women and men we could have giving our city direction. This
decision was so difficult because I value being a member of his team so very much. As
our city moves forward there will be many more difficult decisions to be made.
However, nothing worth having is easy. I urge all of you, both elected and appointed, to
continue to make progress by working as a team. The beauty of what we have guiding
our city right now is we all come from different backgrounds and ways of looking at
problems -but we work together to find solutions. I would encourage all of you to
continue working in this fashion to best serve our residents and to continue to adapt to
our changing times. I will miss the opportunity to serve our residents - being a Ward
Councilperson gave me a unique opportunity to respond to a variety of residential
concerns which I enjoyed doing. And, the professionalism of the people that work in the
best interest of our City every day is something that has always impressed me about
North Olmsted. My fellow Council members: you do not know how I will miss working
with you. The camaraderie that one can only experience when you are put into our shoes
is something unique and I will value this experience -and getting to know all of you -
~~...
