r <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />'~{,,~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 7, 2013 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br />Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo Director of Safety/Service Thomas, Director of <br />Planning/Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of April 16 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: First Reading -Ordinance 2013-43 and Resolutions 2013-45, 2013-47, <br />,, 2013-51, and 2013-53. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Mother's Day Brunch will be held at Springvale on Sunday May 12th. Seatings <br />are at 10:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12t", and reservations are <br />recommended. <br />• The city received a reimbursement check from FEMA in the amount of $140,217 <br />for Super Storm Sandy. <br />• Bruce Malik W. Adams II was found dead late Thursday night on Brookpark <br />Road. Bruce was a 15 year old Sophomore at North Olmsted High School. <br />Memorial services for Adams will be at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Columbia <br />Road Baptist Church. <br />• The Fire Department responded to fire incident on North Clague Road on April <br />16, 2013 at about 7:00 a.m. in the morning. The 83 year old resident was <br />awakened by her smoke detector, and evacuated the residence after calling 911. <br />The fire was contained to the living room with moderate damage to the room and <br />contents. The resident was transported to the hospital as a precaution. <br />• The Ice Show is scheduled for May 17 through May 19. More details are on the <br />Recreation Center website. Four hundred forty two kids are registered and <br />playing softball/baseball this summer through the recreation department. The <br />Recreation chiller replacement set to start May 20, 2013. <br />
