MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ~~t. OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ~' APRIL 16, 2013 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo.Director of~Safety/Service Thomas and Director of Planning/Development Wenger Absent: Director of Human Resources Farver Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. There was a moment of silence for the victims, families, friends and first responders involved in the Boston Marathon bombings. The minutes of the Council meetings of March 5, March 19 and Apri12 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading -Ordinance 2013-35 & Resolution 2013-38. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He presented a proclamation to Roman Klimkowicz (attached). • The Citizen of the Year Award Dinner is Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the North Olmsted Party Center. • Garbage service has been delayed due to the Republic Services strike. Residents can place the blue carts out, but there may be a delay. Do not place the green carts out. The city of North Olmsted will be allocating resources to pick up yard waste. • Today, the City was notified by the County that the Senior Center Roof Replacement Project will be recommended to the County Council for funding in the amount of $115,000 through the CDBG Muni Grant Program. Due to the compressed timeframe and requirements of the grant, legislation will be brought before City Council on May 7 to move forward with a state term contract for the ~"` construction project.
