MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />~~t. <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />~' APRIL 16, 2013 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br />Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo.Director of~Safety/Service Thomas and Director of <br />Planning/Development Wenger <br />Absent: Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />There was a moment of silence for the victims, families, friends and first responders <br />involved in the Boston Marathon bombings. <br />The minutes of the Council meetings of March 5, March 19 and Apri12 were approved as <br />written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading -Ordinance 2013-35 & Resolution 2013-38. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He presented a proclamation to Roman Klimkowicz (attached). <br />• The Citizen of the Year Award Dinner is Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at <br />the North Olmsted Party Center. <br />• Garbage service has been delayed due to the Republic Services strike. Residents <br />can place the blue carts out, but there may be a delay. Do not place the green <br />carts out. The city of North Olmsted will be allocating resources to pick up yard <br />waste. <br />• Today, the City was notified by the County that the Senior Center Roof <br />Replacement Project will be recommended to the County Council for funding in <br />the amount of $115,000 through the CDBG Muni Grant Program. Due to the <br />compressed timeframe and requirements of the grant, legislation will be brought <br />before City Council on May 7 to move forward with a state term contract for the <br />~"` construction project. <br />
