Council Minutes of 03-19-2013 <br />adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance 2013-31 adopted 6-0. <br />Ordinance 2013-32 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance amending Chapter 159 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North <br />Olmsted entitled "Cultural Activities Commission" in order to rename the Commission, <br />redefine membership qualifications and establish new duties. <br />Ordinance 2013-33 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to request qualifications for professional architectural <br />design services in order to prepare plans and specifications for public improvements to <br />the Recreation Center; further authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of <br />Control, to enter into an agreement with the contractor selected in the RFQ process, and <br />declaring an emergency. Councilman Kearney made a motion to suspend the rules <br />requiring three readings and formal committee review. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Brossard and passed unanimously. <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane said a portion of this Ordinance was discussed in <br />Caucus. The Mayor thought it was necessary to get moving on this project because there <br />were issues regarding a tennis court and some movement within the Recreation Center. <br />There is a second part to this Ordinance and that is to allow the Mayor to enter into the <br />agreement. That was not discussed in Caucus. He wanted to point that out for the record. <br />~.~~.. <br />Jeff Sturgeon, 3092 W. 231 asked if there is a certain amount of money that the city is <br />planning on spending for this. The Mayor said the estimate would be between $20,000 <br />and $30,000. Sturgeon asked if the final design is approved by the Board of Control, and <br />Mayor Kennedy said yes. Sturgeon asked if there is public input, and Mayor Kennedy <br />said the Board of Control meeting is a public meeting. <br />Councilman Kearney moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Brossard and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2013-33 adopted 6-0. <br />Ordinance 2013-34 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2013, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Councilman Barker scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for Tuesday, March 26, <br />2013 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Ordinance 2013-34. The Finance Director is asked to attend. <br />Councilman Orlowski scheduled an Intra-Governmental Relations committee meeting for <br />Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 7:15 p.m. to discuss Ordinance 2013-32.
