,,,,,,, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />~, OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 5, 2013 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br />Orlowski and Schumann <br />Also Present: Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council <br />Gallo, Directar.of Planning%Development Wenger and Director of Human <br />Resources Farver <br />Absent: Council Member Mahoney <br />Council Member Williamson <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Council President Jones requested a moment of silence in remembrance of Detective Ray <br />Barda who passed away over the weekend. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of January 15, 2013 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: First Reading -Resolution 2013-30. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He announced that Detective Ray Barda passed away March 2, 2013. He was a <br />Master Evidence Technician, Range Officer and Firearms Instructor. He was the <br />2010 VFW Officer of the Year and, in 2001, he assisted in a Cuyahoga County <br />Prosecutor secure a conviction on a sexual predator. <br />• Lt. Scott Bartko will be retiring from the Fire Dept. effective April 1, 2013. Scott <br />started with the city on January 1, 1979. He wished him well and thanked him for <br />his service. <br />• The CDBG Public Hearing will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. <br />in Council Chambers. The purpose of the hearing is to discuss project ideas for <br />the City's Municipal Grant application. The City is eligible to apply for up to <br />$150,000 to benefit low and moderate income groups in the community. <br />Fish Fry Success <br />
