,,,,,,, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ~, OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 5, 2013 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, Orlowski and Schumann Also Present: Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Directar.of Planning%Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver Absent: Council Member Mahoney Council Member Williamson Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Council President Jones requested a moment of silence in remembrance of Detective Ray Barda who passed away over the weekend. The minutes of the Council meeting of January 15, 2013 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: First Reading -Resolution 2013-30. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He announced that Detective Ray Barda passed away March 2, 2013. He was a Master Evidence Technician, Range Officer and Firearms Instructor. He was the 2010 VFW Officer of the Year and, in 2001, he assisted in a Cuyahoga County Prosecutor secure a conviction on a sexual predator. • Lt. Scott Bartko will be retiring from the Fire Dept. effective April 1, 2013. Scott started with the city on January 1, 1979. He wished him well and thanked him for his service. • The CDBG Public Hearing will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. The purpose of the hearing is to discuss project ideas for the City's Municipal Grant application. The City is eligible to apply for up to $150,000 to benefit low and moderate income groups in the community. Fish Fry Success
