MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />,,, OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 18, 2012 <br />Present: Council President Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br />Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Thomas, Director of <br />Planning/Development Wenger, Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Council President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />There was a moment of silence for the victims and families of the school shooting in <br />Connecticut. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of November 20, 2012 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading -Ordinances 2012-123, 2012-124 and 2012-127; First <br />Reading -Resolution 2012-129, Ordinance 2012-130 and Resolution 2012-133. <br />Council President Limpert asked for a moment of personal privilege. He asked the Clerk <br />to read his resignation letter (attached). <br />Councilman Barker, Law Director Gareau, Mayor Kennedy and Finance Director Copfer <br />thanked Council President Limpert for his service to North Olmsted. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He read the following press release: <br />Due to the most recent tragedy and senseless killings of young children and teachers in <br />Newtown, Connecticut, we must stay diligent in our daily lives to protect the ones we <br />love and cherish the most. For those in Newtown, we extend our hands of love, <br />compassion and deepest sorrow for the victims and their families. We ask the community <br />to show its support by wearing Green and White, Sandy Hook School colors, on Friday, <br />December 21, 2012. <br />This type of tragedy reminds us of the importance of our efforts to protect our children <br />and our community.
