,,, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 4, 2012 <br />Present: Council President Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br />Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Thomas, Director of <br />Planning/Development Wenger, Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Council President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of November 7, 2012 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading -Resolution 2012-114, Ordinance 2012-116, Resolution <br />2012-118, Ordinance 2012-120 and Ordinance 2012-121; First Reading -Resolutions <br />2012-126 and 2012-128. <br />A Public Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss <br />Ordinance 2012-125. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Westfield Great Northern has donated $8,000 to the City to help with Super Storm <br />Sandy damage. $4,000 will go to the Oxcart Food Pantry and $4,000 will go to <br />the city's Service Department. With this generous donation, the City will be able <br />to purchase food and household items for the Food Pantry and generators for the <br />Service Department. <br />• Detective Ray Barda's fundraiser was success. Thank you to the community for <br />the support of Detective Barda and his family. <br />• Walter/Hunter/Deerfield should reach completion at the end of this <br />week/beginning of next. <br />• Bids were received for the Brookpark Road Underpass Lighting Project. The <br />Board of Control awarded the contract to Perram Electric for a total cost of <br />$33,000. <br />• Jeff Richie, VFW Post 7647 Commander, called to advise that Detective Chuck <br />Fioritto has won the honors of North Olmsted Policeman of the Year. Detective <br />Fioritto has also won the 7~' District Veterans of Foreign Wars' Police Officer of <br />,~ .~ <br />
