MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 2, 2012 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Thomas, Director of <br />Planning/Development Wenger, Director of Human Resources Farver <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of August 21, 2012 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading -Ordinances 2012-80 and 2012-82; First Reading - <br />Resolutions 2012-84, 2012-85, Ordinance 2012-86 and Resolution 2012-87 <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Four letters of interest were received by the City for design engineering for the <br />Citywide Signal System project. Submissions are being evaluated and a <br />consultant will be selected this month. <br />• The Mayor's Sk Run was held Sunday, September 23, 2012. It was a huge <br />turnout with 120 participants. Thank you to the volunteers, sponsors and runners <br />for their contributions. <br />• On a sad note, Former Building Commissioner Dale Mitchell passed away last <br />evening. Viewing arrangements are unknown at this time. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• He is in receipt of the shared facilities agreement from the North Olmsted School <br />district that he spoke of a few meetings ago. He will bring this forward in the <br />form of legislation to Council for the next meeting. <br />• On September 25, he and Directors Copfer and Farver participated in labor <br />negotiations with Central Dispatch. Although they made progress on some <br />matters, they were not able to reach an agreement. Another date has not yet been <br />set to meet again. <br />• Regarding property maintenance, there have been two sentences imposed. There <br />was one additional conviction which was pending sentencing which will occur in <br />October. Three open cases remain subject to conviction. A total of 16 complaints <br />
