MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED "" SEPTEMBER 18, 2012 Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety and Service Thomas and Director of Planning and Development Wenger Absent: Director of Human Resources Farver President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The special Council meeting minutes of June 25 and August 14, 2012 were approved as written. ~"'' The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules '~` this evening: Second Reading -Ordinance 2012-73, Ordinance 2012-75 and Resolution 2012-78; First Reading -Resolutions 2012-79 and 2012-83 REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • Bids were received for the North Olmsted Park Storm Water Demonstration Project. The project involves the installation of permeable pavers and a rain garden near the basketball courts. The contract was awarded to Platform Cement, who will begin work next month. • Two new staff members will be starting at the Recreation Center on October 1, 2012. There is a Recreation Commission meeting scheduled for October 1 as well. • In the last month, the storm crew in the Service Dept. has completed two major backyard projects with the third one being almost complete. On Woodpark Lane, the crew installed 300 feet of pipe; 450 pipe on Randall Drive. The crew is currently on Coe Avenue, and 650 feet of pipe has already been installed. These specific projects were a direct result of meetings with residents in these neighborhoods. • The Mayor's SK Walk/Run is scheduled for Sunday, September 23, 2012. All proceeds will go to scholarships for graduating North Olmsted senior residents.
