,,,,, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 7, 2012 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety and Service Thomas, Director <br />of Planning and Development Wenger, and Director of Human Resources <br />Farver <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: First Reading -Resolutions 2012-65, 2012-69 & 2012-70. <br />Council President Limpert reminded everyone that North Olmsted's Homecoming <br />weekend will be the last weekend in August. The Kiwanis will be hosting a pancake <br />breakfast that Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Funding will support the cross country <br />team and scholarships. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The Olmsted Festival of the Arts will be held this Sunday, August 12, 2012 from <br />10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Frostville Museum in the Metroparks. There will <br />be day-long event featuring arts, crafts, farm vendors, food and live music. <br />• The City will be awarded two grants totaling $40,000 for interior lighting <br />efficiency improvements to Fire Stations #1 and #2 as part of the County's <br />Municipal Energy Program. The grants require no city matching funds. Work is <br />already underway at Fire Station # 1. <br />• The City was granted $50,000 in demolition funding by the Cuyahoga County <br />Prosecutor with $50,000 in matching funds through the Ohio Attorney General's <br />Moving Ohio Forward Program. City personnel will be attending a seminar to <br />learn the rules and procedures for how these funds can be used. <br />• Recreation is wrapping up a few more weeks of summer programming and getting <br />ready for fall. Fall brochures have been mailed and registration has started for fall <br />programs. In July the city hosted the North Coast League Swim Championship <br />meet. The meet was a great success, and thanks to the staff the pool looked <br />
