Council Minutes of 06-19-12 <br />,,,,.. • The Recreation Center staff is ready for the annual 4th of July event. Please <br />spread the word to family and friends to come out to watch the parade and join us <br />for our picnic at North Olmsted Park. Still looking for bike contest entries, parade <br />participants and guest hot dog grillers! <br />• First week of summer programs has gone very well. Summer camp is at its max <br />of 225 children registered. Swim team, swim lessons and tennis programs also <br />started this week. Rink rentals are plenty and summer outdoor programs are in <br />full swing. Administrative work includes the fire alarm project and fee ordinance <br />changes. <br />• Safety town started last week and will run to the end of this week. Approx 100 <br />Children attended and thanks to our young volunteers who assisted Officer Jim <br />Carbone and Aux. Connie Chakan. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• He reported out some time ago concerning the Bureau of Underground Storage <br />Tank Removal and the Clark Gas Station on Lorain and Stearns. The individual <br />that represents the company/individual that owns the site appeared in court and <br />has been found guilty of the property maintenance violations. The property will <br />be sold and put back into usage as a service station. <br />• There has been work on the Waxman Carpet property on Columbia and Lorain. <br />Some of the property maintenance issues have been taken care of and good <br />progress is being made. <br />• Regarding housing sales and trends in North Olmsted, Sheriff's sales are dropping <br />and continue to drop. Home values are still dropping, and foreclosures are down <br />as well. <br />• On June 14, he was involved in negotiations for the FOP for Fact Finding. An <br />executive session has been scheduled this evening to discuss the results of this <br />with City Council. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• She spent the last few weeks preparing for Fact Finding discussions with the FOP. <br />A lot of financial preparation was required for this. <br />• They completed their CAFR and it was submitted to the State last Thursday. <br />• She has started working on the Tax Budget for North Olmsted. This is before <br />Council tonight. <br />Council President Limpert, Chairman of the Committee of the Whole: <br />The Committee of the Whole met Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Present was <br />Mayor Kennedy and his Directors and representatives from Rocky River Court and <br />Administration. <br />• Discussed were Ordinances 2012-47 and 2012-48, which deal with the Mayor's <br />Court. There was also general discussion regarding Mayor's Court.
