Council Minutes of 06-19-12 <br />Councilman Kearney, Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee: <br />~. The Rec Committee met Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 7:20 p.m. Present were committee <br />members Kearney, Brossard and Orlowski; Council President Limpert; Council members <br />Barker, Mahoney, and Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau and guests. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2012-56 which is a a Resolution authorizing the Mayor <br />to implement a design build selection process for the award of a contract to design <br />and install improvements to the Recreation Center fire alarm system, and <br />authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for <br />the same with the successful applicant, and declaring an emergency. The <br />committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of Resolution 2012-56. <br />Councilwoman Williamson, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare <br />Committee: <br />The Public Safety Committee met Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 6:47 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Williamson, Mahoney and Schumann; Council President Limpert; <br />Council members Barker, and Orlowski; Mayor Kennedy and guests. <br />Discussed was Ordinance 2012-49 which is an Ordinance amending the Traffic <br />Control File to provide for the placement of a "Yield Here to Pedestrians" sign <br />located near the intersection of Country Club Boulevard and Victoria Lane in the <br />City of North Olmsted and declaring an emergency. The committee voted 3-0 to <br />recommend approval of Ordinance 2012-49. <br />Councilman Barker took a moment of personal privilege to extend his appreciation to his <br />colleagues, Administration, residents and friends who expressed their sympathies to him <br />and his wife for the loss of his mother-in-law. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane read a letter into the minutes: <br />Recommendation for an Ordinance establishing Accounting Procedures for a North Olmsted <br />Mayor's Court. <br />It is recommended that a North Olmsted Mayor's Court have a dedicated accounting <br />procedure separated of all other municipal accounting for funds and expenditures. The <br />purpose is to establish the North Olmsted Mayor's Court as an autonomous self funded <br />operation and to further restrict and manage surpluses of revenue by ordinance. <br />The following receivable funds are sug eg sted: <br />Accounts Receivable Court Fines: By ordinance, court fines collected will be restricted <br />for the routine operation of the Court. This shall include but is not limited to office <br />supplies, wages, benefits, a percentage use of City Hall facilities, maintenance, and <br />utilities, and other similar routine occurrences as established by ordinance. Further, <br />surpluses occurring thereafter will be earmarked for Public Safety. <br />4 <br />
