Council Minutes of 04-03-2012 <br />~,, The Recreation Center is currently in the final round of interviews for the <br />Program Supervisor position that will oversee the scheduling of the tennis courts, <br />~~ dance and exercise classes and multi purpose rooms. <br />• Springvale has been taking advantage of the off season by completing several <br />necessary upgrades and improvements. The kitchen floor, which was damaged by <br />equipment malfunction, has been replaced. Anew sidewalk was recently <br />installed outside the Ballroom entrance by the Service Department, and the <br />awning will be installed by the Heritage Room in anticipation of marketing the <br />use of the smaller meeting room in the facility. Beginning April 14, there is only <br />one open date on a weekend for a wedding reception for the remainder of the <br />year. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Council has before them this evening 2012-39 which is the revision to Chapter <br />1363 "Property Maintenance". He had reported previously that this is the <br />legislation that the Planning Dept., Building Dept. and Law Dept. have been <br />working on together. These revisions are to help make the system more efficient <br />and to establish clear objectives and goals that are important for property <br />maintenance in the city of North Olmsted. <br />• There is a property maintenance case in Rocky River Court that received a $500 <br />fine for the ongoing, continued refusal to comply with the removal of a diseased <br />„~, and dying tree. This was a nuisance condition determined by the city forester on <br />;,,~. Walter Road. Additionally, there is one property maintenance case pending <br />sentence, nine cases subject to conviction, eight cases authorized and awaiting <br />sentence, four cases referred to the Law Dept. and pending prosecution and four <br />complaints of unresolved issues. <br />• He participated in a series of meetings over the past few weeks. He attended a <br />meeting of the Directors of Law of Bay Village, Rocky River, Westlake, Fairview <br />Park, North Olmsted, Lakewood and North Ridgeville. There were a number of <br />different topics discussed to get an idea of what is happening in neighboring <br />communities. <br />• He participated in mediation with the FOP. The next round of mediation is April <br />12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. <br />• Yesterday, he participated in the North Olmsted Commission on Paratransit <br />meeting. Topics included the possible reformatting of NOCOP and the pay-in <br />requirements to ensure the city has equity among the member communities of <br />Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township and North Olmsted. <br />• He also sat in on a presentation from URS concerning the inflow and infiltration <br />detection methods and latest trends from smoke testing to dye testing. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• She also attended the NOCOP meeting. They also discussed the STC contract. <br />~'° • Before Council tonight is Ordinance 2012-33, and she appreciates Council <br />passing this on suspension tonight.
