MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ~~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FEBRUARY 21, 2012 Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Planning and Development Wenger, Director of Safety and Service Thomas, and Director of Human Resources Farver President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilman Barker made a motion to hold Ordinance 2012-10 in committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Agenda amended to remove Ordinance 2012-10. Council President Limpert announced that the next Council meeting will be held Wednesday, March 7 instead of March 6 because of the election on Tuesday. The Council meeting minutes of December 20, 2012 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading -Resolution 2012-9 & Ordinances 2012-11, 2012-12, 2012-13, and 2012-14; First Reading -Ordinance 2012-21. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The third annual Mayor's Meet and Greet will be held this Thursday, February 23`d, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Springvale Club House. All local business representatives are invited to attend. • The warmer weather this winter has made a significant difference in the Service Department budget. In January and February of 2011, the City spent $151,000 on salt compared to $80,000 during the same time this year. In the first two months of 2011, the City also incurred nearly $35,000 in overtime for plowing/salting compared to just over $19,000 during the same two monthperiod this year.
