MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />;,,;~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 7, 2012 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Director of Planning and Development Wenger, Director of Safety and <br />Service Thomas, and Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Absent: Clerk of Council Gallo <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The following legislation will be considered for suspension of the rules this evening: <br />Second Reading -Resolution 2012-6; First Reading -Resolution 2012-8 <br /> <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• An Ordinance pertaining to the city's trash collection policy, 2012-5, is on the <br />agenda this evening for first reading. This proposal was discussed at last week's <br />Environmental Control Committee meeting where several questions were asked <br />by residents. He has answered those questions, and the answers were forwarded <br />to Council and the residents who had come to City Hall for that issue. <br />• Rocky River and Bay Village have experience unusually high numbers of daytime <br />burglaries over the last three months. Although North Olmsted has not <br />experienced burglaries at this volume, residents should be very vigilant in their <br />neighborhoods and report any unusual people or activities they may see in their <br />neighborhoods. <br />• Officers completed the changeover to Glock weapons. This was necessary <br />because of the age of the Berettas and the inability to find replacement parts for <br />them. The weapons were purchased with seized money from drug related arrests <br />and forfeitures. <br />• North Olmsted Police Dept. firearms instructors, in conjunction with surrounding <br />cities, participated in an instructional training update session organized by the <br />City of Lakewood. The WEB Police Chiefs are beginning to share officer <br />training in an effort to reduce costs. This month, auxiliary officers from North <br /> <br />
