<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 3, 2012 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Director of Planning and Development Wenger, Director of Safety and <br />Service Thomas, and Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Absent: Clerk of Council Gallo <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of December 6, 2011 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: <br />~~"""' Second Reading -Resolution 2011-141; First Reading -Resolutions 2012- l , 2012-2, <br />2012-3 & 2012-4 <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The Country Club Streetscape Project is out for bid. The bid opening will be <br />January 17 with construction to commence later this year. <br />• Cuyahoga County has announced its third round of CDBG municipal grants. <br />Applications are due April 3. The Citizens Advisory Committee will begin <br />meeting this month to discuss and recommend a viable project for funding. <br />• In December 2011, the Oxcart Food Pantry provided food to 166 families for a <br />total of 508 individuals. Of those 166 families, 64 were adopted through the <br />Adopt a Family Program. <br />• Chase Ritenauer has resigned from his position as Public Works Commissioner <br />with North Olmsted. Effective January 1, 2012, he became Mayor of Lorain. We <br />wish him the best and thank him for his hard work. Longtime Safety Secretary, <br />Louise Kilbane, has left North Olmsted to become his Administrative Assistant in <br />Lorain. <br />• Year 2011 was the busiest year on record in the Fire Dept. Preliminary numbers <br />show the department responding to over 200 more calls in 2011 than 2010. Most <br />«~ <br />' of the increase can be attributed to EMS runs while fire runs decreased in 2011. <br />
