Council Minutes of 08-20-2013 <br />point would be to keep this easier to track the terms. There are three year terms on <br />several boards/commissions. Most Council members serve four year terms even though <br />the terms are currently three years. This just clarifies things and makes it easier to keep <br />track of by the Administration and Council. President Jones clarified that these are not <br />Council committees for which changes are suggested, but boards and commissions. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2013-65 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to <br />provide construction services for the Springvale Golf Course Cart Bridge Project, and <br />further authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for <br />the same with the lowest and best bidder, and declaring an emergency. Councilman <br />Kearney made a motion to suspend the rule requiring three readings. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Councilman Kearney <br />moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and <br />passed unanimously. Resolution 2013-65 adopted 7-0. <br />Ordinance 2013-66 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its second reading. <br />An Ordinance amending Section 1901.11 of the Fair Housing Code in order to increase <br />the term of office for Council members to four (4) years. <br />Ordinance 2013-67 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its second reading. <br />~;~ An Ordinance amending Section 171.05 of the Community Reinvestment Code in order <br />to increase the term of office for Council members to four (4) years. Councilman <br />Orlowski made a motion to table Ordinance 2013-67. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2013-67 tabled. <br />Ordinance 2013-68 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its second reading. <br />An Ordinance amending Section 172.01 of the Tax Incentive Review Code in order to <br />increase the term of office for Council members to four (4) years, as amended. <br />Ordinance 2013-69 introduced by Councilman Orlowski was given its second reading. <br />An Ordinance amending Section 1501.2501 of the Taxation Code in order to increase the <br />term of office for Council members to four (4) years. <br />Ordinance 2013-70 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. An <br />Ordinance amending Chapter 1321 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North <br />Olmsted entitled "Permit and Inspection Fees", for the purpose of updating fee schedules, <br />and declaring an emergency, as amended. Councilman Smith made a motion to suspend <br />the rule requiring three readings. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and <br />passed unanimously. <br />Jeff Sturgeon, 3092 W. 231 asked if this would change the cost of homeowner permits, or <br />is this strictly for contractors? Planning/Development Director Wenger stated that <br />~:~ Council currently approved changes made to the Fee Code for the city's fee structure for <br />all permits issued by the Building Dept. to homeowner and for commercial work. They <br />were pretty much raised across the board.
