Limpert <br />Kearney -Tim Smith <br />Orlowski -Tim Smith <br />Council President Jones announced that Tim Smith is the new Council at-Large <br />representative with a vote of 4-2. Tim Smith was sworn in/given the Oath of Office by <br />Council President Jones. <br />Council President Jones asked the Scout Leaders to come forward to introduce the Boy <br />Scouts and Girl Scouts that participated in the mock Council meeting for All Scouts <br />Week. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />,.. • He congratulated Tim Smith, and said he is looking forward to working with him <br />to make the city a better place. <br />• On Friday, he honored citizens aged 90 and older during a luncheon at the North <br />Olmsted Senior Center. Twenty-one honorees were in attendance. We wish all of <br />them continued good health. <br />• A press conference was held on Wednesday May 29, 2013 at the North Olmsted <br />Senior Center where Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald announced the <br />2014 Municipal Grant Program. The city was successful in its application for the <br />Senior Center and Community Cabin Roof Replacement Project in the amount of <br />$115,000. Construction is expected to begin on Monday June 10, 2013. The next <br />round of Grant applications are due on August 10, 2013. He thanked <br />Planning/Development Director Wenger for her work on this. <br />• Key Building division staff spent several days last week working with Munis staff <br />on the initial stages of creating permits and code enforcement tables leading up to <br />the eventual software conversion from ICES to Munis this fall. <br />• On May 30, 2013 a pedestrian crossing Lorain Road was struck by a car. The <br />victim sustained extremely severe head trauma, and the prognosis is not good. He <br />is waiting for updates on this issue. <br />• The city experienced a fire at 113 Greenward Way, on June 3, 2013. Responding <br />crews made a great tactical stop preventing the fire from spreading into the attic. <br />Damage was limited to the laundry room, and a few charred joists in the attic. <br />The city was within minutes of losing the entire building if the fire gained <br />headway in the attic space. <br />2 <br /> <br />
