Council Minutes of 06-04-2013 <br />• The swearing-in ceremony for Police Captain Ronald Cox is tomorrow, June 5, <br />2013 at 10:00 am in Council Chambers. Two new Police Officers -Arthur <br />,. Ventura III and Oliver P. Wolcott -will be sworn in on Monday June 10, 2013 at <br />10:00 am in Council Chambers. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• He congratulated Tim Smith on his appointment to City Council. He also <br />commended the remaining applicants for interviewing with Council and putting <br />the effort forth. <br />• He commended the Scouts for their involvement in scouting and their work with <br />the community. <br />• He referenced an envelope that has been mailed to several people which reads <br />"Local Records Office...Important Property Information - Respond <br />Immediately". It's very official-looking, but essentially it's a scam. The County <br />has deeds available for a fraction of the cost, and you can research your own <br />property. <br />• The City of North Olmsted vs. Theodore Keller was decided by the 8th Appellate <br />District this week. This is a conviction on a speeding case on Stearns Road. Mr. <br />Keller was not successful in his appeal. <br />Director of Finance Copfer <br />• She congratulated Tim Smith, and said she looks forward to working with him. <br />• The General Purpose Financial Statements have been filed with the Auditor of <br />-~ ~ State as of May 31St. She is working on compiling the CAFR information and the <br />.rte. additional documentation that is required which is due June 30. <br />• The Finance Dept. is working on adding the police division alarm billing to the <br />Munis general billing module. The separate server created for obvious security <br />reasons in the Police Dept. has proved challenging when trying to integrate <br />modules for personnel in the Police Division to utilize. <br />• She provided Council and the Administration with the first quarter Mayor's Court <br />report. She attempted to address financial concerns that were voiced at Council <br />meetings while Council considered the creation of a Mayor's Court. <br />Council President Jones, Chairwoman of the Committee of the Whole: <br />The Committee of the Whole met Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 7:17 p.m. Present were <br />Council members Barker, Kearney, Orlowski, Schumann and Williamson; and Council <br />President Jones. <br />• Council met for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the open Council at- <br />Large position. Councilman Brossard had a family emergency and could not <br />attend but was provided an audio tape of the interview. Council interviewed <br />Marty Hayes, Sid King, Duane H. Limpert, Tim Smith and Steve Wolf. <br />Council President Jones asked for a round of applause for the individuals that applied for <br />the Council at-Large position. <br />3 <br /> <br />
