Council Minutes of 02-19-2013 Council President Jones explained that Council's Resolution mirrors the Mayor's Proclamation, so Council asks that the Mayor please present his Proclamation to Limpert. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He presented former Council President Duane K. Limpert with a Proclamation: Whereas: Duane Keith Limpert was born on March 21st, 1952 to Ruth and Dewey Limpert. Duane was raised in the City of North Olmsted and takes great pride in the fact that both his parents' families settled here in the early 1860's; and Whereas: Duane has played many roles in the course of his life in North Olmsted. He is a graduate of North Olmsted High School, class of 1970, where he was a starting defensive lineman. Duane still helps to direct alumni activities. Duane was also the Director of Public Service and the Safety Director for the city. Duane served as Ward 1 Council member from 1994 through 2004 and President of Council from 2010 through 2012. Duane has a total of 14 years of dedicated public service served on North Olmsted City Council; and Whereas: Community involvement has always been an important part of Duane's `~'k' life. Duane is a 32 degree Mason, a member of the Al Koran Shrine, ~°""'" Kiwanis, Forest Park Homeowners Association, Krazy Kops and has always been very active in scouting; and Whereas: Duane graduated from Ashland University, where he earned a triple major in Management, Marketing and Finance, plus a minor in Accounting; and Whereas: Despite all of these activities, family always has and always will be Duane's number one priority. Duane has been married to his wife Kathi for nearly 40 years. Together they have three sons, Doug (wife Laura), Jon (wife Jenny) and Duane (wife Dawn). Duane and Kathi are the proud grandparents of Lauren, Emme, Mason and Reagen. Duane and Kathi will be blessed with their fifth grandchild in June; and Whereas: Duane's sister, Jennifer, who although is two years his senior, says Duane would encourage her as children and young adults. Jennifer says Duane is always ready to give sound advice, along with a joke or two; and Whereas: Whatever role Duane has played in his life, be it son, father, husband, brother, football player, scout, Safety Director, Service Director, Councilman or Council President, Duane's involvement and dedication to his family and the City of North Olmsted have been a positive influence now and for future generations. •, ~,.. 2 ~,:x,..~ , r.. ~_ ..
