Council Minutes of 02-19-2013 <br />Council President Jones explained that Council's Resolution mirrors the Mayor's <br />Proclamation, so Council asks that the Mayor please present his Proclamation to Limpert. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He presented former Council President Duane K. Limpert with a Proclamation: <br />Whereas: Duane Keith Limpert was born on March 21st, 1952 to Ruth and Dewey <br />Limpert. Duane was raised in the City of North Olmsted and takes great <br />pride in the fact that both his parents' families settled here in the early <br />1860's; and <br />Whereas: Duane has played many roles in the course of his life in North Olmsted. <br />He is a graduate of North Olmsted High School, class of 1970, where he <br />was a starting defensive lineman. Duane still helps to direct alumni <br />activities. Duane was also the Director of Public Service and the Safety <br />Director for the city. Duane served as Ward 1 Council member from 1994 <br />through 2004 and President of Council from 2010 through 2012. Duane <br />has a total of 14 years of dedicated public service served on North <br />Olmsted City Council; and <br />Whereas: Community involvement has always been an important part of Duane's <br />`~'k' life. Duane is a 32 degree Mason, a member of the Al Koran Shrine, <br />~°""'" Kiwanis, Forest Park Homeowners Association, Krazy Kops and has <br />always been very active in scouting; and <br />Whereas: Duane graduated from Ashland University, where he earned a triple major <br />in Management, Marketing and Finance, plus a minor in Accounting; and <br />Whereas: Despite all of these activities, family always has and always will be Duane's <br />number one priority. Duane has been married to his wife Kathi for nearly 40 <br />years. Together they have three sons, Doug (wife Laura), Jon (wife Jenny) and <br />Duane (wife Dawn). Duane and Kathi are the proud grandparents of Lauren, <br />Emme, Mason and Reagen. Duane and Kathi will be blessed with their fifth <br />grandchild in June; and <br />Whereas: Duane's sister, Jennifer, who although is two years his senior, says Duane <br />would encourage her as children and young adults. Jennifer says Duane is <br />always ready to give sound advice, along with a joke or two; and <br />Whereas: Whatever role Duane has played in his life, be it son, father, husband, <br />brother, football player, scout, Safety Director, Service Director, <br />Councilman or Council President, Duane's involvement and dedication to <br />his family and the City of North Olmsted have been a positive influence <br />now and for future generations. <br />•, <br />~,.. <br />2 <br />~,:x,..~ , r.. ~_ <br />.. <br />
