Council Minutes of 01-02-2013 ~,,, and then come before Council to be approved. If my memory serves me, the police ratified the agreement and then brought it to the city. The dispatchers ratified the agreement and then brought it to Council. We're taking this kind of out of turn. While I understand the importance of getting this done and approved, I still would like to see the firefighters take the initiative -like all of the other unions have -and ratify it first and then come to Council. My other thought on this is quite contrary to my vote perhaps, I am very pleased and commend the Mayor and Administration for taking the steps necessary to get this agreement done in the manner it was done. I am glad the firefighters are going to get the 2% retroactive. However, I can't get past the idea that they should ratify it first and the timing is really a little to condensed to me. But, the Mayor and the Administration, again, are to be commended for how this was handled; not involving outside Counsel, Mr. Johnson. Roll Call continued: Schumann, yes. Resolution 2013-9 adopted 6-1. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS Councilman Brossard scheduled a Recreation Committee meeting for Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Ordinances 2013-7 and 2013-8. The Mayor or his designee is asked to attend. Councilman Mahoney scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 7:20 p.m. to discuss Ordinance 2013-2. The Planning/Development Director is asked to attend. x~ Councilman Brossard scheduled a Streets & Transportation Committee meeting for Tuesday, January 8, 2013 to discuss Resolution 2013-6. The Planning/Development Director is asked to attend.
