<br />MINUTES OF TEIE MEETING OF 'IIiE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DDCEMBER 21, 1993 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Babas, Leonard, Lind, <br />McKay, Musial, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Ed Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director <br />James Burns, Clerk of Council Barbara Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Saringer <br />President Boehmer called t~ meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were Invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the meeting of December 7, 1993 were approved as written. The <br />minutes of the special meeting of December 15, 1993 were approved as written. <br />Mr. Boehmer announced that Ordinance Nos. 93-163 and 93-164 would be added to the <br />agenda. The following legislation would be passed under suspension of the rules: <br />93-120, 93-150, 93-151, 93-162, 93-163 and 93-164. <br />Mr. McKay moved to amend the agenda to add Resolution No. 93-161 and to consider <br />the legislation at this time; second by Mrs. Babas; motion passed unanimously. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 93-161 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. McKay on <br />behalf of the entire Council aryl the Mayor. A resolution commending the public <br />service of James L. Leonard, Councilman of Ward 1 in the City of North Olmsted. <br />Mr. McKay moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and <br />committee review; second by Mr. Musial; motion passed unanimously. Resolution <br />No. 93-161 which honored Mr. Leonard for his distinguished public service was <br />read in its entirety. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mrs. Babas, Mr. <br />Lind, Mr. Musial and Mr. Nashar. Roll call: McKay, yes; Babas, yes; Lind, yes; <br />Nashar, yes; Musial, yes; Leonard, abstain. The motion passed with five <br />affirmative votes aryd one abstention. Resolution No. 93-161 adopted. Mr. <br />Leonard wss presented with Resolution No. 93-161 and received the congratulatiaris <br />and good wishes of Council and the Administration. Mr. Leonard expressed his <br />thanks to everyone. <br />Mr. Boehmer welcomed Mrs. Leonard and members of the Leonard family who were in <br />attendance . <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) On December 8, a welcome bane party was held for Mr. <br />Snyderburn of Le Bern Drive who had lost his bane to a fire last spring. Don <br />Copeland, Director of Human Resources, was instrumental in creating a partnership <br />between his department, other city departments, Cuyahoga County and several <br />community organizations to help the Snyderburn family.
