Council Minutes of 12/21/93 <br />LEGISLATION (continued) <br />ed; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. Mr. Nashar moved for <br />adoption of Ordinance No. 93-163 as amended; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 93-163, as amended, was adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 93-164 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. McKay on <br />behalf of himself, the entire Council and Mayor Boyle. An ordinance exterxiing <br />the public transportation operating agreement by and between the City of North <br />Olmsted and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. McKay moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings <br />and comni_ttee review; second by Mr. Lind; motion passed unanimously. Mr. McKay <br />moved for adoption; second by Mr. Lind; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance <br />No. 93-164 adopted. <br />Mr. Musial suggested, because of the confusion over Ordinance 93-163, that all <br />legislation be furmeled through the Law Department. Mr. Gateau agreed aryd stated <br />that a rn~mber of years ago he had instituted a Legislative Request process. If <br />everyone would follow the process by sending him a Legislative Request and by <br />sending a copy to the Clerk of Council, these types of problems would be avoided. <br />It was agreed that routine legislation could still be handled at the departmental <br />level. <br />Miscellaneous Business <br />Mr. Leonard mov to excuse the absence of Mrs. Saringer; second by Mr. Nashar; <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come <br />before Council, President Boehmer adjourned the meeting at 8:56 p.m. <br />~~ <br />~~t/ <br />/` James D.
