Council Minutes of 8/17/93 <br />Mr. McKay presented the following liquor permits for consideration: <br />a. Debbie D's Lounge, 29843 Lorain Road, a request for a D3A permit, which is an <br />extension until 2:~ a.m. Mr. McKay moved to approve the request; seed by Mrs. <br />Bahas; motion passed unanimously. <br />b. Josie G., Inc., 24108 Lorain Road, transfer to BEP, Inc., DBA Slam Jam's at <br />24108 Lorain Road. This is a D5 axed D6 license. Mr. McKsY moved to approve the <br />transfer; second by Mr. Leonard; motion passed unanimously. <br />c. Ruggers, Inc., 5116 Great Northern Plaza South, is requesting the liquor <br />permit be put in safe-keeping.. Mr. McKay moved to approve the request; secorx3. by <br />Mr. Leonard; motion passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Lind, Chairperson of the Finance Committee, reported: 1) The Finance <br />Commuttee met on July 21. In atteMdar~ce were committee members Sari.nger, Leonard <br />and Lind; Council Members Nashar, A3usial and McKay; Finernce Director Burns; <br />Service Director BohLmarm. The committee discussed Ordinance 93-97, which <br />provides for engineering service for reconstruction work at the Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant. Bids will be accepted in November, and it is expected to be a <br />1994 project . These modifications to the plant will bring it into ccxmpliance <br />with EPA regulations. <br />Mr. Leonard, Chairperson of the Transportation Committee, reported: 1) The <br />committee met on July 21 to review a traffic control t located on Lorain <br />Road. Present at the meeting were committee members McKay, Musial and Leonard; <br />Council Members Saring~er, Lind and Nashar; Service Director Boh]amann; Finance <br />Director Burns. The comanittee had no objections to the ordinance and reco~mmer~:ed <br />its approval. <br />Mr. Musial, Chairperson of the Recreation Committee, reported: 1) The committee <br />met at 7 p.m. on August 17. In attendance were committee members Babas, Nashar <br />and Musial; Council Member McKay. The cc:anmittee discussed Ordinance 93-98 to <br />approve the acquisition of real property throw a donation by &iskind Develop- <br />ment Corp. to be used for recreaticma]. purposes. The property is located at the <br />northwest intersection of Country Club Blvd. and Columbia Road. Mr. Mural noted <br />the legislation contained a restriction prohibiting playground equipment on the <br />property; however, this does rat prohibit the city from putting benches in the <br />area. The committee voted unanimously to accept the proposal and rec ed its <br />approval. Mayor Boyle com~enteci that he and Mr. McKay had asked for the <br />prohibition of playground equipment far safety purposes. This is a him-traffic <br />area and could be dangerous for children. The area is n~ant to be a green space <br />for the surrounding residential neighborhood. <br />Audience Particip tion <br />Duane Lirnpert, -4~T'~Berkshire, addressed Cecil on the possibility of rezoning <br />the property at the corner of Dover Center Road and Lorain Road should Wal-Mart <br />decide not to build on that property. <br />Mayor Boyle responded that the Council has an obligation to review the master <br />plan before taking arty action to rezone that piece of property. <br />4 <br />
