Council Minutes of 5/5/93
Audience Participation (continued,
ena~~ing ~eg3.a~ati~or engineering on
Mr. Bohlmar~n assured the residents that
on the list of 13 streets.
the appropriate streets can be drawn uap.
both Noreen Drive and Ambour Drive were
Mrs. Bahas said she wanted to answer the lady who asked why ahe should believe
that the city would deliver on pranises to fix her streets. The last three years
have been the first time that a street program has been in effect. It has been
the first time that the Deerfield area got an answer to their flooding problems.
Streets i.n bad shape such as Country Club Blvd. and :3iuset Oval have been
reconstructed. Four years ago, this city was in a holocaust situation. We have
been addressing problems om an emergency basis. It is true that we do have to
rely on the patience of residents. Hc~ever, the residents can trust this
Administration because of the history of the past three years. Indeed, the
Deerfield residents have been grateful for the elimination of their flooding
problems that they have donated decorated the City Hall Chrst~uas tree for
two years. The city has been delivering for three years arxi will continue to do
so in the future. For the first time, we have a Mayor with a financial
background uaho has been able to secure funding fram the County, State and Federal
governments. County, State and Federal dollars have ntyw started to flow back
into North Olmsted. Our residents, unlike Bay Village, have not been assessed
for street repairs. Other ~stshore suburbs also have street and flooding
problems. However, our residents should .keep the faith because the city has
produced good results over the past three years.
Mrs. Sari.nger wanted to reiterate that the past three years have been an example
of Council and the Administration working together. She has worked with four
different Mayors, and she can honestly say that more has been accomplished in
this term than in any of the others.
LEGISLATION
OrOr roan ec No. 91-150 introduced by Mr. Ta11on was given its third reading. An
ordinance accepting a traffic sgc~al. detector easement located on property owned
by Lauren Properties Limited Partnership and. designated Parcel "A" in the
assembly plat for Lauren Properties, Inc., and further designated as Per.~nt
Parcel No. 231-31-1 by Cuyahoga County Maps auxd Records, said easement shown on
Exhibit "B", and declaring an emergency. Mrs. Saringer moved for adoption;
second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 91-150 adopted.
Ordinance No. 93-35 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its third reading.
