This particular line had the lowest ridership of all
RTA lines. Although tyre cuts made were riot as deep as feared, it will cause
layoffs within NOMBL. RTA has agreed to reschedule several NOMBL routes,
including the No. 53 which has shown a 27~ increase in ridership, so that they
can act as feeders to the downtown routes. This should increase the ridership.
3) In a letter to the Plain Dueler on February 7, 1993, a North Olmsted resident
questioned why RTA was s~~~~ing~~0 million for an enclosed wa:lkwriy between Tower
City and Gateway. The actual total being spent is $10.5 million with the break-
down as follows: $8.6 million from Federal government grants normally ua~eci for
road construction; $0.9 million from Tower City; $0.6 million from tt~ Gateway
project; $0.4 million from RTA using the proceeds from the 1~ sales tax.. This will get
the street repair project underway for this year.
5) Met with State Representative Kasputis on funding possibilities for RTA.
Although his input was a little late, it was still worthwhile.
6) On February 9, attended the second of four tele-conference seminars on
"re-inventing government". The first two conferences focused on how schools and
city governments can work together. The next two meetings will focus on cities.
7) Along with Mr. Wilamosky, met with Dr. Ford of NASA to discuss co~xterizaton
within the city ar~d the establishment of the Electronic Data Processing Depart-
ment. NASA has approved our original plan and is now helping us review our ads
for persormel. They emphasize the fact that the persormel must be on board
before they can take any action to l~lp us with data processing.
';' ~
...~
