Service Director Bohlmarm has :apoken to Mr. Geffen about the
problems on his property--the pitch to the lateral is incorrect. This problem will
be rectified; however, it does take time to do the job right. The work has been
done in a logical manner, working from downstream to upstream.
Mrs. Bahas has been in Mr. Geffert's basement and seen firsthand what he is dealing
with. She suggested that perhaps Mr. Geffen could be given a time frame for
completion of the repair work.
Mr. Bohlmann said that a $°2,100,000 contract has recently been awarded to United
Survey Co. for sewer repair work. Approximately half of the money will be spent in
the Lansing, Porter, and Martin Road areas. Mr. Geffert's property is part of this
contract and work will begin in a few weeks. Problems with Mr. Geffert's property
are that his home is the last one on the system, the pitch to the lateral is not
correct, and the elevation of the main sewer line is not proper. These problems
will definitely be addressed this spring.
Mr. Nashar asked if a check valve could
help.
