MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF Z'HE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOYEMHER 15,1994 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, McKay, Musial, <br />Nashar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Members Bahas and Lind <br />Council President Boehmer called the meetuig to order at 8:03 p.m in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mr. Boehmer announced that Ordinance Nos. 94-160, 94-166, 94-167, 94-168 and <br />94-169 would be passed under suspension of the rules. <br />~S <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) Through an evahuttion of the Fire Departm~t, the need for an <br />emergency water supply was revealed. S~ce the Service Department Vao-Alls can hold in <br />excess of 2,300 gallons of water, the Fire Chief has suggested the VaFAlls be used in an <br />emergency situation. This po is being investigated since it would be an ewer <br />solution than purchasing a comely water tanker. Cooperation between the Safety and <br />Service Departments has brought about this possable remedy. <br />2) Jerry Wray, Director of ODOT, wrote in response to Resohetion No. 94-118, which <br />requested noise barriers be installed along portions of I-480. From Mr. Wray's latter, it is <br />apparent that we will not be getting noise barriers for quite some time. According to Mr. <br />Wray, an evahiation of the district has been done and North Ohn~ed is in the eighth level <br />of the index The eighth level, consisting of projects in Cuyahoga, Geauga and bake <br />Counties, will cost approximately eleven million dollars. However, the State is <br />appropriating only ten milh'on dollars per year; the first seven levels will cod <br />approximately thirty-five million dollars. <br />3) Everyone is invited to attend the annual Christmas Tree lighting on Thursday, <br />December 1. A choir of school children will perform in Conned Chambers, and Santa <br />Claus will make an appearance. Those who attend are being asked to bring non-permable <br />goods which the Human Resources Department will distribute to needy citizens during the <br />holiday season. <br />
