MnvvTES alF THE MEETING a>E T>~ cauNC>~., <br />OF TSE CITY aF NURTH OLMSTED <br />OCTODER 4,1994 <br />Present: Council Presid+~t Boomer, Council Members Bahas, Limpert, Lind, <br />McKay, Mu®al, Naar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyce, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Semen <br />Council President Boehmer called the meetiag to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinance 94-145 and Resolutions 94-127 and 94-150 <br />would be passed under suspension of the rules. <br />)~EPQD,TS <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) Council received a fax from the RID Committee, founde~t by <br />Paul Hunady and Bob Woodman of Lakewood, Ohio, which requests that cities meal <br />unvoted millage. The report is in error because it states that North Olmsted has unvoted <br />millage. All of our mdiage is ~ the Charter, and the Charter is voted on by the public. <br />2) On October 11, North Oh~ed will again receive the Ohio Motorist Association's <br />Outstanding Achievement in Pedestrian Program Activities Award. <br />3) The increase in the Board of Hea~kh contract wilt be from $2.22 per person to $2.44 per <br />person based on the 1990 census. The cost will increase to $83,457 from $75,932. <br />4) According to the County Auditor, 1,025 North Olmsted families attended the property <br />tax conferences recently hekt in the city. Of that number, 916 filed for a review of their <br />property values. In additFOn, 438 homeowners wrote to the County Auditor and 317 <br />homeowners telephoned to discuss property valuations. The Auditor is dispatching <br />appraisers to North Olmsted for further review of hous~g values. Residents who have <br />questioned their property values will receive and answer by the end of October. <br />5) Effective October 1,1VIarlene Telegedy, activities coordinator at the Senior Center, has <br />been appointed to the position of Ad~istrator of the Division of Aging. The scope of <br />the position of Adm~i~rator has been changed to reflect activities rather than activities <br />and social services. Social services will now be handled by the Department of Human <br />Resources. While the Senior Center will still endeavor to identify poss-ble problems of <br />seniors, they will referred to Director Don Copeland and Director Chris AQ~ra. <br />This new structure will assure that all citizens, regardless of age, wiIl benefit from the <br />programs that Mr. Copebmd has developed and made available to our residents. <br />~,~..A,...,..oy,.~.. .. ~~~.~ ~, ,. ,.
