MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCII, <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 21, 1994 <br />Present: Council Presklent Boehmer, Council Members Bahas, Limpert, Lmd, <br />McKay, Musial, Nashar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Ed Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Fiance Director <br />James Burns, Clerk of Council Barbara Seman <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Inver Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Fledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mr. Boehmer announced that Ordinance Nos. 94-90 and 94-92 would be removed from <br />the agenda and Ordinance No. 94-104 would be added to the agenda. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) During the heat wave last Friday, CEI notified the city that we <br />were on the list of selected cities to be shut down if consumption reached a certain level. <br />Although this did not occur, the situation was a positive occurrence since we were able to <br />review emergency procures. <br />2) Contract meetings with RTA are on-going and significant progress has been made. <br />Some of the city proposals will need to be presented to the RTA Board before the <br />contract can be signed. Our goal was not simply to sign a contract but to make sure that <br />NOMBL remains a viable bu~mess without costing city taxpayers additional funds. <br />3) Moen held a pubfic open house on Saturday, June 11, and guests were invited to tour <br />the building which is unique in its design of facilitating the flow of work. This project is <br />an excellent example of the type of quality business we hope to amact to our city through <br />the economic development program <br />4) Newly appointed Safety Director Carolyn Kasler was introduced. Mrs. Kasler has <br />recently served the community as a member of the local school board. <br />5) A meeting was held to review the central dispatch system which was recently put into <br />operation. The system is operating very well and with few problems. This department <br />will be under the Safety Director. Council will shortly be receiving legislation to <br />accommodate the realignment of employees in order to staff the department on a 24-hour <br />basis. <br />6) A meeting was held to determine how the Uniform Relocation Act will affect the city <br />with regard to senior housing. <br />7) The note ordinance for the new fire station is being introduced. This will be a good <br />investment of approximately $3 million over athirty-year period. <br />>: <br />i <br />
