~, <br />D~ININUUT'ES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 4, 1994 <br />Present: Council Pc t Boehmer, Council Members Bahas, I.in~pert, Lind, <br />McKay, Musial, Nas~tar, Beringer <br />Also Present: Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director James Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Barbara Semen <br />Council President Boehmer called the me~ng to order at 8:07 p.m m Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the au0dience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the meeting of April 19, 1994 were approved as written. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinance No. 94-83 would be passed under <br />suspension of the rules and Ordinance Nos. 94-86 and 94-87 would be added to the <br />agenda. <br />In the absence of Mayor Boyle, Finance Director Burns read a proclamation recognizing <br />May 3, 1994 as National Teachers' Day. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) A pre-trial hearing was recently held on the Neroni <br />false arrest case. The insurance counsel representing the city has settled that ease for a <br />nominal amount, and the case will be dismissed with prejudice. <br />2) The Law Department is currently researching and preparing a motion for summary <br />judgment in the Cneen River (no solicitation) case. <br />3) The judgment entry issued by the court with regard to the Deerfield recreation area has <br />been recorded and presented to the Finance Director. This area is now city property. <br />4) The Dancik appropriaticm case (property for senior citizen housing), along with a <br />preliminary judicial report from the title company, has been filed in Probate Court. <br />5) An appraiser has been hired to assess the Sherwin Williams property, and a report will <br />be filed within the next two weeks. <br />Finance Director Burns reported: 1) Due to the faihue of Issue 8, the Administration will <br />be looking into what alternatives and/or actions maybe necessary. <br />Mrs. Beringer, Chairperson of the Building, Zoning and Development Committee, <br />reported: 1) A public hearing was held earlier this evening with regard to the recreational <br />vehicle legislation, Ordinance No. 92-58.
