t <br />~ 1t~T[NUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING <br />,- MAY 4, 1994 <br />7:15 P.M. <br />Present: Council Prudent Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, Lind, McKay, <br />Musial, Nashar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Law Director Michael Gareau (arrived at 7:36 p.m.), Clerk of Council <br />Barbara Seman <br />Council President Boehmer called the public hearing to order at 7:18 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Mr. Boehmer announced that the public hearing was being held with regard to Qrdinar-c~ <br />No. 92-58, an ordinance amending Section 1135.02 (H) of the City of North Ohn~ed <br />Zoning Code entitled `recreational Vehicles." <br />Mrs. Saringer gave the following background information on Ordinance No. 92-58: <br />1. The ordinance was first introduced into Council on May 19, 1992. <br />2. The ordinance was referred to Panning Commission in June and July of 1992, and it <br />was returned to Council for fiuther review. <br />3. The ordinance was referred to the Building, Zoning and Development Committee. A <br />meeting was held, and approximately 22 residents attended to voice their opinions. It was <br />agreed that the Building Commissioner would revise the legislation. The residents who <br />had attended the BZD meethtg were sent a copy of the revised legislation along with a <br />request for their recommendations. To this date, there has been no negative re~onse to <br />the revised legislation. <br />4. The ordinance was approved by the Planning Connnission on December 14, 1993. <br />5. The ordinance was given its second reading on April 19, 1994. <br />Audience Participation <br />Frank Nye, 28207 Wisteria Drive, felt that new regulations are not needed. He and other <br />boat owners are against the new ~andards. Mrs. Saringer explained that the new <br />regulations were developed with input from residents who own recreational vehicles. Mr. <br />McKay explained that the new regulations are actually more lenient because the simulation <br />limiting recreational vehicles to 18 feet has been removed. Mr. Limpert said. he believed <br />the new legislation better defined the regulations and was more lenient. Mr. Nye said that <br />the old regulations were not enforced, and he feared that the Police artnt would <br />now be checking the entire city. Council Members explained that the regulations have <br />always been enforced on a complau-t basis by the Building artment. There are no <br />plans to change the method of enforcement. <br /> <br />
