._#. <br />V NIINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLIVISTED <br />APRIL 19, 1994 <br />Present: Council Pr t Boehmer, Council Members Bahas, Limpert, McKay, <br />Musial, Naar, Sar~ger <br />Also Present: Mayor Ed Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director <br />James Burns, Clerk of Council Barbara Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Lmd <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8:04 p.m. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Eagle Scout Dennis Livingston. <br />The minutes of the meeting of April 5, 1994 were approved as written. <br />Mayor Boyle introduced Becky Strauss, a senior at North Olmsted high School and a <br />member of the S.LT.E.S. program, which is a partnered education program offered <br />through the North Olm~ed Schools. Becky has been working at City Hall under the <br />direction of Administrative Assistant Nfficy Wlodarski. As a part of her work and school <br />assignment, Becky coordinated the Earth/Arbor Day celebration which is JoffitiY <br />celebrated by the city and the schools each year. Becky introduced the following North <br />Olmsted students who spoke on various Earth/Arbor Day topics: <br />Danielle Blagg, Butternut School, spoke on Earth Day and its origins. <br />Tricia Vagras, North Olmsted High School, spoke on Arbor Day. <br />Kristen Vance, Spruce School, spoke on recycling. <br />Katie Portman, Forest School, woke on air pollution. <br />Jessica Dolezal, Andrew Smigaj, Zack Carr, North Olmsted Middle School, spoke on a <br />rainforest and endangered species school project. <br />Erin Sibel, Maple School, spoke on preservation of parks and forests. <br />Tara Borrelli, Pine School, spoke on Tree City, USA. <br />Becky introduced City Forester Dave Wendell. Mr. Wendell explained flat his <br />department has been in existence for 10 years and is respons~'ble for tree trimum~g, <br />planting trees, right-of--way maintenance, cemetery maintenance, city landscaping, tree <br />.r~,~~~~ ., .~~,..~.- <br />,:. <br />
