Information on the two companies is as follows:
a. Moen had projected 350 jobs and has actually started the year with 380 jobs. Their
payroll projection was $6.7 million; their actual 1994 payroll will be approximately $14.4
million, which will result in $280,000 of income taxes as co~ared to $134,000 that had
been projected. The school system share of the taxes will increase to $43,200 from
$20,100 that had been projected. There is a misconception that all taxes are abated within
an enterprise zone--this is not true. This property will generate $65,464 in property tax.
b. MAC Sy~ems had projected 91 employees by 1995. On December 31, 1993, 90
people were akeady employed, and they project 127 by the end of the year. Payroll for
1993 was approximately $3,300,040; 1994 payroll will be approximately $5,100,000. The
income tax on this is about $103,000/$104,004, annualized by the end of this year, which
exceeds the 1995 original projection by $32,500 and the 1993 projection by $37,940.
The school system will also benefit through property taxes.
