Council Minutes of 3/1/94 <br />Members Limpert, Saringer, Naar; Mayor Boyle; Finance Director Burns; Service <br />Director Bohlmann. The following items were discussed: <br />a. Ordinance 94-16 which establishes the organization and compo~tion of the non- <br />uniform part-time personnel of the Police Department. The committee recommended <br />approval. <br />b. Resolution 94-28 which authorizes the advertising for bids for one combination sewer <br />cleaning machine. This machine will replaet an older machine that was purchased in 1989, <br />and the anticipated cost is $150,000. The committee recommended approval. <br />c. Resolution 94-29 which authorizes the advertising fox bids for two 23,000 lb. dump <br />trucks with hoists and snow plows. Projected cost is $80,000, and the committee <br />recommended approval. <br />d. Ordinance 94-36 which provides for the issuance of $5.26 million in notes for the 1994 <br />street repair program The committee recommended approval. <br />e. Ordinance 94-37 which provides for the issuance and sale of $300,000 in notes for <br />improvements to the Recreation Otter. The improvements will include resurfacing of the <br />parking areas and driveways and an equipment storage building. The committee <br />recommended approval. <br />f. Ordnance 94-38 which provides for the issuance and sale of $500,000 in notes for the <br />purchase of an aerial pumper fire truck. The anticipated cost may be somewhat lower <br />than originally planned due to a new vendor and a new design. The committee <br />recommended approval. <br />g. Ordinance 94-39 which provides for the issuance and sale of $570,000 in notes for the <br />purchase of motor vehicles and other ancillary equipment for the Service Department. <br />This ordnance does not include the Vac-All or dump trucks. The committee <br />recommended approval. <br />h. Ordinance 94-40 which provides for the issuance and sale of $90,000 in notes for the <br />purchase of four pickup trucks and three automobiles for use by the Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant, the Recreation Department, the Building Department and the <br />Engineering Department. These vehicles will be purchased through the State of Ohio <br />bidding program. The committee recommended approval. <br />i. Ordinance 94-41 which provides for the issuance and sale of $3 million in notes for the <br />improvements to the sanitary sewer system throughout the city. The committee <br />recommended approval. <br />j. Ordnance 94-42 which provides for the issuance and sale of $100,000 in notes for the <br />improvements to Old Town Hall. The committee recommended approval. <br />k. Ordinance 94-43 which establishes a petty cash find of $1,150 for the Recreation <br />Center, an increase of $300 over the current level. This fund will provide change for the <br />ticket booth, pro shop, concession shop and the dollar bill changer. The committee <br />recommended approval. <br />1. Ordinance 94-44 which deals with a payment made to a former employee upon <br />retirement. This ordinance is being held in committee for further review. <br />m Ordinance 94-45 which is a Charter amendment allowing Council to assess up to three <br />additional mills of property tax to pay off the sewer debt incurred since 1986. It also <br />provides for the replacement of a . 7 mill recreation tax due to expire in 1999 with a . S mill <br />continuing levy. The committee recommended approval. <br />3 <br /> <br />
