Council Mutates of 2/15/94 <br />The second Finance Committee meeting was held on February 9 in joint session with <br />the Recreation and. Streets & Drainage Committees. Present were Finance Committee <br />members; Council Members Saringer, Limpert, Nashar; Mayor Boyle; Finance Director <br />Burns; Service Director Bohlmarm; Personnel and Administrative Services Director <br />Wilamosky. Agenda items were as follows: <br />a. Ordinance 94-18, which authorizes advertising for bids for a complete street <br />replacement with sewer upgrading for the Oxford Oval streets. Anticipated cost <br />is $425,000. <br />b. Ordinance 94-19, which authorizes advertising for bids for a canplete street <br />replacement with sewer upgrading for Noreen arui Hawkins. Anticipated cost is <br />$550,000. <br />c. Ordinance 94-20, which authorizes advertising for bids for a canplete street <br />replacement with sewer upgrading for Westchester Drive and Olmsted Oval. <br />Anticipated cost is $700,000. <br />d. Ordinance 94-21, which authorizes the commencing of eminent domain proceed- <br />ings for property bordering the parcel being acquired for senior housing. The <br />city and the property owners have not been able to reach an equitable price for <br />the land. The committee rec approval. <br />e. Ordinance 94-22, which authorizes advertising for bids for a complete street <br />replacement with sewer upgrading for Phase II of the I~erfeld subdivision. Phase <br />I is approximately 65X ct~lete with Chase Drive, Hunter Drive north of Deerfield <br />and Fawn Drive still ruining to finish. Anticipated cost of Phase II is <br />$850,000. <br />f. Ordinance 94-23, which authorizes advertising for bids for Bretton Ridge <br />Phase I. This will be a replacement of the road surface with curbs and asphalt <br />and also include storm and sanitary sewer repairs. Anticipated cost is $750,000. <br />g. Ordinance 94-24, which authorizes advertising for bids for a complete street <br />replacement with sanitary storm and water line repairs for Coe Ave., Palm Drive, <br />Birch Lane and Oak Lane. Anticipated cost is $910,000. <br />h. Ordinance 94-25, which authorizes the advertising for bids for a complete <br />street replacement with storm repairs to Esther Ave. and MetcBeth Ave. The net <br />cost will be $167,000 since $152,950 will be received from Issue 2 funds. <br />i. Ordinance 94-26, which authorizes advertising for bids for Phase F of the <br />sanitary sewer rehab program for the northeast quadrant of the city. Cost is <br />anticipated to be $3 million. <br />j. Ordinance 94-27, which authorizes advertising for bids for Phase II repairs <br />to the Recreation Center inciud.ng repaving of the parking lot, landscaping, <br />storage buildings and other capital items. Anticipated cost is $300,000. <br />The cosrmmittees recommP.nded approval of all the legislation. Further discussions <br />included a detailed look at individual departments and funds from the 1994 <br />appropriations. Hopefully, the appropriations legislation will be ready for <br />passage at the second March Council meeting. <br />Mrs. Saringer asked that it be noted that she was not able to be present for the <br />entire Finance Committee meeting aril did not ,participate in the street repair <br />discussions. <br />On behalf of Mrs. Bahas, Chairperson of the Recreation, Public Parks and <br />Buildings Committee, Mr. Lind reported: 1) The committee met in joint session <br />with Finance and also recam~ends approval of the Phase II Rec Center repairs. <br />4 <br /> <br />
