Mr. Lind moved <br />for suspension of the rules requiring three readings aryl. ccxamttee review; second <br />by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Mc. Lind. moved for adoptian; second by <br />Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 94-2 adapted. <br />Ordinance No. 94-3 was introduced auxl placed an first reading by Mr. Lind. An <br />ordinance providing for the issuance and sale of $260,000 notes, in anticipation <br />of the issuance of borxis, for the purpose of acquiring, for use by the Department <br />of Public Service, two two-and-one-half-tan trucks, a three-ton tar~em dump <br />truck, a one-half-tan pickup truck, a one-ton chipper truck, a sweeper and a <br />small loader backhoe, together with the necessary appa~rtenances thereto, and <br />declaring an emergency. Mr. Lind moved for suspension of the rules rewiring <br />three readings and committee review; second by Mr. M~Kay; motion passed <br />umanimously. Mr. Lind moved for adoption; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 94-3 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 94-4 was introduced and placed an first reading by Mr. Lind. An <br />ordinance providing far the issuance and sale of $250,000 notes, in anticipation <br />of the issuance of bonds, for the purpose of acquiring afire truck, together <br />with the necessary equipment aryl appurtenances thereto, and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. Lind moved for suspension of the rules requiring three re~.ngs <br />and committee review; second by Mr. McKay; motioan passed w~tanixnously. Resident <br />Robert Strnad questioned the amount of $250,000 for afire truck and qua~:stioned <br />whether bids had been taken. I~yor Boyle explained that this was a puffer truck, <br />and the price was actually very good for this type of equipment. Bids were taken <br />an this purchase because our City Charter requires that purchases over $10,000 be <br />put up for competitive bids. The bid was awarded to the lowest and best bidder, <br />and the purchase was reviewed by the Safety aixi Finance Committees of Council. <br />Mr. Lind moved for adoption; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance No. 94-4 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 94-5 was introduced and placed an first reading by Mr. McKay. An <br />ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses aryd expendituares far the <br />City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1994. Mr. McKay moved for <br />suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review; second by <br />Mr. Lire.; motion passed unarYitmously. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. <br />Lind; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 94-5 adopted. <br />Miscellaneous Business <br />Mr. ache ed a Finance Committee meeting for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, <br />January 12.
