<br />MINII'I'ES OF THE MEETENG OF THE COUNCIL <br />~,~, OF THE Ci"f Y OF NORTIi OLMSTED <br />DECEMEER 5,1995 <br />Present: Council President Bc~mer, Council Members Limpert, Lind, McKay, <br />Miller, Musial, Nashar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of November 21, 1995 were approved as written. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinance 95-150 would be removed from the agenda. <br />~ ] .STS <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) The annual tree lighting ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 7. <br />Santa will arrive at 7 p.m and help the Mayor throw the switch to .light. up City Ball. <br />North Olmsted school children will provide the entertainment by singing Christmas carols. <br />2) NOMBL is collecting coats for kids. Donations should be dropped off at the bus <br />garage, and the last collection day will be December 7. <br />3) Along with school sup~tendent Mr. Futon, the Mayor met with representatives of <br />Fortney and Weygandt to discuss the construction of an office building on the west end of <br />the city. A proposal has been submitted to the tax incentive review council, and it will <br />provide an increase to the city, school system and, hopefiilly, the bottom line of Fortney <br />and Weygandt. <br />4) The initial report on Issue 2 projects has been issued. Any project scoring over 140 <br />points makes the first cut-off and has a very good chance of being funded. North Olmsted <br />has four projects on the list: 1. The Beech/Carla sanitary retention system, which scored <br />174 points; 2. The Sandy Ridge stormwater retention project, which scored 164 points; 3. <br />The Brookpark/Mastick relief storm sewer, which scored 163 points; 4. The Raot Ditch <br />culvert replacement, which scored 156 points. <br />Law Director Gareau: 1) The Law Department is currently working on strategies for <br />modification of the EPA consent decree dealing with permitted by-passes. <br />2) With regard to the Weissman case, the Law Department has -filed for forfeiture of the <br />weapon in Rocky River Municipal Court. <br />
