., s <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORT$ OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 17,1995 <br />Present: Council PressdeaZt Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, Lmd, McKay, <br />Miller, Mussel, Nashar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Semen <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of October 3, 1995 were approved as written. <br />President Boehmer announced that, due to the general election, the first Council meeting <br />in November would be held on Wednesday, November 8. Mr. Boehmer announced that <br />the following legislation would be passed under suspension of the rule: Ordinances <br />95-111, 95-136, 95-147, 95-149 and Resolution 95-148. <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) The Mayor recognized October 16 as World Food Day. This atmual <br />commemoration is sponsored by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United <br />Nations and was first celebrated in 1981. Mayor Boyle recognized several citizens who <br />have made a difference in our community toward ending hunger: Roy Seitz, Ellen <br />Go~gm, Lori Hardony asd Randal Hutchinson. Mr. Seitz and Mrs. Goggin were in <br />attendance and the Mayor presented them with 1995 U. S. Mayors End Hunger Awards. <br />The award recipients were recognized by all present. <br />2) The Mayor will submit his complete report in writing. (Please see attachment.) <br />Law Director Gareau: 1) The motion for summary judgment in the Fox case was granted. <br />The city has been dismissed out of that case. The court has kept jurisdiction in the case <br />for the purpose of ruling on sanctions allowing the city to collect attorney fees for <br />firvolous conduct. <br />2) An employee has filed an unfair labor practice with the State Employees' Relations <br />Board. The city has ten days to file a response. <br />3) The Law Department is considering whether to file a motion to dismiss or answer and <br />file a motion for summary judgment in the GRilfi case. <br /> <br />
