f { ~ i <br />ti _~ <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 3,1995 <br />Present: council President Boehmer, council Members Limpert, McKay, Mdler <br />Nashar, Sarirger <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Clerk of Council Semen <br />Absent: Council Members Lind and Musial <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at S:OS p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mr. Boehmer announced that the first Council meeting in November would be held on <br />Wednesday, November 7, because of the election to be held on Tuesday. Mr. Boehmer <br />announced that Resohrtion Nos. 95-132, 95-135, 95-142 and Ordinance Nos. 95-133 and <br />95-134 would be passed under suspension of the rules. <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) A successful grand opening of the new fire station was held or Sunday, <br />October 1. Thanks to everyone who attended and to the firefighters and city employees <br />who vohmteered their time. <br />2) Last Wednesday, the Recreat~n Center held an open house to showcase the new Lexan <br />glass that surrounds the ice rink. The Lexan glass was a gift from the North Olmsted <br />Hockey Club and the Wei Shore Figure Skating Club. <br />3) Yesterday, three police officers were sworn in to fill the vacancies of sergeant. The <br />new sergeants are officers Cox, Medves and Miner. <br />4) The Sea of Learning Daycare Center closed suddenly last week to the surprise of <br />parents and employees. The Mayor's office and Chris Allegra from the Human Resources <br />Department assisted the parents in finding other daycare facilities and helped the workers <br />in findmg other employment. The parents are considering reapening the daycare <br />themselves, and the city wdl assist where needed. <br />5) Sprirgvale will soon be changing over to winter rates. Now that. the busy season at <br />Springvale is over, repairs to the cart paths are being made. The administration is <br />preparing a package for Council outlining the long-range and short-range capital <br />improvements far Springvale. <br />6) Judge Gravers and the WEB mayors have been investigating methods of improving the <br />security at Rocky River Municipal Court.
