MIlVUTES QF THE MEETING QF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF 1~ORTH OLMSTED <br />JULY 5,1995 <br />Present: Council President Boehrner, Council Members Limpert, Lmd, McKay, <br />Miller, Musial, Nashar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Boehmer called the .meeting to order at 8:03 p.m in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the meeting of June 20, 1995 were approved as written. <br />President Boehmer introduced and welcomed new Police Chief Frank Viola.. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinance No. 95-86 would be removed from the <br />agenda and held in conmrittee and the following legislation would be pawed under <br />suspension of the rules: Ordinance Nos. 95-95, 95-100, 95-101, 95-103, 95-104, 95-106 <br />and Resolution No. 95-105. <br />I ~ ,TS <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) The promotion of Frank Viola to Police Chief will cause a vacancy <br />within the department. Te~g and promotions will be taking place the rema~der of the <br />year. Also, a second D.A.RE. officer will be added in addition to the increase of two <br />officers to the department. <br />2) The new N.O.C.O.P, van has arrived. Increased time has now been allotted to seniors <br />attending the hot pinch program at the Senior Center. <br />3) The Fourth of July celebration was successful -everyone enjoyed the festivities. Thanks <br />to everyone who volunteered. <br />4) The city hosted the annual NOSO tournament during the holiday weekend whh aver <br />twenty-three hundred children participating. Several teams from Canada and a team from <br />France participated in the tournament. A large donation by Ameritech hued assure a <br />successful tournament. <br />5) Everyone at the Fourth of July celebration enjoyed seeing former Councilwoman Pat <br />Bahas who was here for a visit. <br /> <br />
