MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />~5 OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 30,1995 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, Lmd, McKay, <br />Miller, Musial, Nashar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Clerk of Council Semen <br />Council President Boehmer called the special meeting to order at 7:38 p.m in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />FINANCE COMMI7[TE~ RE~JRT <br />Mr. Lind, Chairperson of the Finance Committee: 1) The committee met on Monday, <br />May 22. Present were committee members Musial and Lmd; Council Members Saringer, <br />Limpert and Nashar; Mayor Boyle; Finance Director Burns; Service Director Bohlmann; <br />Safety Director Kesler; Personnel & Administrative Director Wilamosky. The committee <br />discussed appropriations and salaries. Since only two members of the committee were <br />present, no recommendations were made on legislation. <br />2) The Finance Committee met at 6:30 p.m this evening, Tuesday, May 30. In attendance <br />were all Council Members, Mayor Boyle, Finance Director Burns, Service Director <br />Bohlmann, Safety Director Kesler and Personnel & Administrative Director Wilamosky. <br />The following items were discussed: <br />a. Ordinance 95-21, which establishes the organization and composition of the non- <br />uniform, part-time personnel of the Police Department. The legislation provides for a <br />4 1/2% increase in hourly rates for approximately 59 employees, including school guards, <br />Police auxiliary and dispatchers. The committee recommended approval. <br />b. Ordinance 95-24, which establishes salary increases for the administrative and <br />legislative non-bargaining employees. The increases will be 4 1/2% in 1995, 3 1/2% in <br />1996 and 3% in 1997. Beginning in 1998, increases will be based on the cost of livimg. <br />The city intends to seek cost of living increases for bargaining unit employees as the <br />individual contracts are negotiated. The committee recommended approval. <br />c. Ordinance 95-47, which establishes salary increases for non-bargaining unit employees <br />of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Lme. These increases will be paid out of NOMBL <br />funds and not out of the General Fund. The committee recommended approval. <br />d. Ordinance 95-85, which is the amended 1995 appropriation. This legislation absorbs <br />the deficit from 1994. Council will consider the establishment of a reserve fund in the <br />future. The committee recommended approval. <br />
